Week of 5/23/22
We are embarking on the final full week of the school year! The Quarter ends on Tuesday, 5/24. All grades will be sent home on the last day of school, June 1st. I am so incredibly proud of the growth, achievement and fun we have had this year. Please also make a special note of our Curriculum Night/Open House that will be taking place on Tuesday, May 24th from 4-5pm. We cannot wait to welcome you back into the building! Additionally, we are celebrating a successful year with Kerkstra Summer Kick Off on May 27th! This event is full of fun, laughter and games. It will be a great day! |
Reading Core Reading: We are working on individualized lessons within Wilson and assessing Fry Sight Words each week. Along with those individualized skills, students work in concepts on IXL, read independently and work on spelling.
Read 180: We are finishing up Unit 3 and looking at comparing/contrasting characters, developing a writing piece and looking at how to develop comic strips! This has been such a fun unit, and the students really enjoyed the fictional aspect of it! Please continue to read with your child(ren) at home and spend at least 20 minutes a day on Learning Ally. It makes a tremendous difference in reading achievement! If you need a password or log in resent, please reach out to me! |
MathCore Math: Students continue to work on more complex comparison word problems, measurement, multiplication, and geometry. Word problem strategies is still a big focus for us.
Both groups are working on basic skills of multiplication fact fluency, time and money. We also work on skip counting to develop our knowledge of multiplication facts. Some students are now working on mastering division facts! We are going to strive to memorize all of the facts by the end of this school year! |
